For telehandlers, the conversation shifts toward maximum lift capacity, lift height, forward reach, load charts, attachment configuration, machine dimensions, steering modes, frame leveling, ground clearance, and terrain capability.

The same nominal height can therefore describe machines with completely different capabilities.

A 40-foot scissor lift and a 40-foot articulating boom may place workers at similar vertical elevations, but they solve completely different access problems.

Likewise, a telehandler with a 40-foot lift height does not serve the same purpose as either personnel lift.

Worksite Conditions Determine What the Machine Can Actually Do

The specification sheet tells you what the machine was engineered to do.

The jobsite determines whether it can actually do it there.

Indoor versus outdoor use, finished concrete versus disturbed soil, overhead utilities, slopes, door widths, floor-loading limits, public traffic, nearby equipment, trenches, wind, weather, and congested working areas can all affect lift operation.
