What's the difference between an electric scissor lift and a rough-terrain (RT) model?

An electric scissor lift is a smaller, battery-powered machine made for indoor locations with flat floors, while a rough-terrain lift includes features for use in uneven, sloped outdoor conditions, such as lugged wheels, heavy-duty construction, and a diesel or gas power source. Electric lifts generally weigh less than 7,000 pounds and reach a height of 20 to 40 feet, while RT lifts weigh 8,000 to more than 15,000 pounds and extend 60 feet or higher. Do you carry both indoor and outdoor scissor lifts?

Yes. Aerial Titans carries electric, rough-terrain, outdoor diesel-powered, and hybrid indoor-outdoor machines from Genie, Skyjack, JLG, MEC, and JCB. This includes a large selection of used scissor lifts, as well as new models from these trusted brands.

How do I know what platform height or weight capacity I need for my job?

Measure the distance from the floor to the work surface and subtract 6 feet for the worker’s height, and combine the weights of all operating employees, tools, and materials to determine the maximum weight capacity. In general, scissor lifts under 30 feet are built for indoor maintenance and warehouse work, while outdoor jobs benefit from a 40-plus-foot vertical distance. For weight, indoor lifts can support up to 500 pounds, and heavy-duty outdoor models are rated from 1,000 to 2,500 pounds.
